Water is a vital resource for human survival and economic development. In Guangdong Province, China, water resources are managed through a comprehensive system of water monitoring and management. This paper aims to provide an overview of the current status of water quality monitoring and warning in Guangdong, focusing on the importance of early warning systems in ensuring the sustainable use of water resources. The paper also discusses the challenges faced in managing water resources in Guangdong and proposes recommendations for improving water quality monitoring and warning in the province.

Introduction

Water is a finite resource that is essential for human survival, agriculture, industry, and environmental conservation. In Guangdong Province, which has a population of approximately 10 million people and an economy worth over ¥2 trillion, water resources are under increasing pressure due to rapid industrialization, urbanization, and climate change. To ensure the sustainable use of water resources, it is crucial to monitor water quality continuously and provide timely warnings when pollution levels exceed safe limits.

Water Quality Monitoring in Guangdong

The Water Resources Department of Guangdong Province has established a comprehensive network of water quality monitoring stations throughout the province.
